XRF is the fast and accurate non-destructive tool for analyzing major, minor and trace elements in the powdered samples of
rocks/minerals/ clays/ ore/ soilistream sediments. Pressed powder pellets and fused beads are prepared from powdered samples and then elements
are analysed using Wavelength dispersive XRF having 4KW Rhodium anodetube.
Standard Operating Procedure
Capabilities:
- Determinations of major, minor and trace elemental composition of rocks and ores.
- The XRF analytical data has helped in petrochemical classification and petrogenetic affinities of rock types and their economic significance.
- lt caters to the requirements of all the regions of GSl, besides analyzing outside samples on commercial basis.
Sample Requirements:
- Minimum sample required is 10 grams of representative and homogenized sample pulverized to at least -200 mesh size. The sample may be submitted in polythene bags with clear identification number.
- Letter should specify the nature of the material, purpose of study and clearly indicate any elementof interest
