X-ray diffraction technique is used to identify the mineral phases present crystalline form in geological samples like ores/rocks
/sediments/soils in general and clay mineral in particular.
Standard Operating Procedure
Capabilities:
Qualitative and quantitative characterization of the various mineral phases (including clay minerals) and their
unit cell dimensions. lt caters to the requirements of all the regions of GSl, besides analyzing samples on commercial basis.
Sample Requirements:
Sample requirement is about 5g of material to be analysed. Sample should be ground to -200 mesh size (fine Powder) in
case of rare minerals, lasser quantity of pure fraction is acceptable
